I lead the UK Government Cyber Coordination Centre, responsible for coordinating the UK Government's response to serious and cross-cutting cyber threats, vulnerabilities and incidents.
I'm a cyber security leader, with a depth of operational and transformation expertise across cyber threat intelligence, threat detection, incident response and remediation in both the private and public sector.I'm currently Head of the Government Cyber Coordination Centre, responsible for coordinating HM Government's response to cyber threats, vulnerabilities and incidents, working alongside the National Cyber Security Centre, Central Digital and Data Office, and Cabinet Office.I have previously held posts within Cabinet Office including CISO and Head of Cyber Security, and before joining the Government I ran PwC UK’s Cyber Incident Management team. I have led the response to some of the UK's largest cyber security breaches and worked with major organisations to improve their security operations capabilities.
I've spoken at conferences including BSides London and HEK.SI 2021 on "Ready For (Nearly) Anything: Preparing Your Organisation For A Cyber Incident", the 2020 SANS Cyber Defense Summit on "Ransomware Defense and Response: Minimizing Risk of an Increasing Threat", Siemplify's 2020 Annual Conference, the 2019 ISF Global Congress, and BSides London 2018.
I've contributed to NIST publications and MITRE ATT&CK, and written articles for the Wavell Room, various industry associations, and on my Medium blog.
While at PwC I co-wrote white papers on "Responding to the growing threat of human-operated ransomware attacks" and "Managing the impact of COVID-19 on cyber security". I also wrote blogs on topics including major incident management, cyber security incidents, and threat intelligence.
I was part of the core team that exposed and reported on APT10’s sustained cyber espionage campaign targeting global Managed IT Service Providers, in PwC’s 2017 "Operation Cloud Hopper" report.
